Wallpaper and wall decals after a home renovation

Finished the long (and let’s admit it, sometimes exhausting) renovation stage? Congratulations! You’ve reached the more fun part of

transforming your home: the design. It’s a more creative stage, but it can also be a little confusing because of the sheer number of design options

in front of you, and because you know design isn’t cheap and will usually stay put for many years. After all, you’re not

planning to change the design every couple of years, so it needs to be easy on the eye for the long haul.

One of today’s design trends is wallpaper, and many designers choose to use it

at this stage. The reason: a very wide range of design options combined with affordable prices. Another reason is how relatively easy

it is to change, or change your mind about, a particular design choice. That’s unlike choosing a specific wall paint color,

light fixtures, floor tiles or, of course, more complex work done by a contractor. Today, wallpaper and wall decals are

among the most popular ways to put the finishing touch on a renovation.

What design solutions do wallpaper and wall decals offer?

Wall decals are great for kids’ rooms, for example, creating a kind of wall painting from a decal that can be removed when

your child grows up (or their taste changes). Think a colorful panda wall decal, a growth chart you can use to mark

your child’s height, Bambi and butterflies, monkeys, angels, fairies and more. These are wall decals kids absolutely love, and prices

start at $33.

In the bathroom, it’s fun to add wall decals of little fish or dolphins swimming along, soap bubbles or even

floor decals that can give the whole room a stunning design effect. In fact, decals on floor tiles

work in any room of the house. Starting at $50, you can refresh the look of a room by adding

vintage-style floor decals, Moroccan-style floor decals or even yellow flower decals that add a pop

of color you can’t ignore. These decals are designed specifically for floors and come with a lamination layer that makes

them especially durable.

If you’re looking for cool, out-of-the-ordinary design effects, 3D

wall decals have you covered. For example, a 3D window decal can be the answer for a windowless room, giving you, with just a wall decal,

a view of Mount Fuji or the New York skyline, or the feeling that you’re on safari or at the beach.

The jump into another reality that 3D decals provide isn’t expensive either. Prices for these wall decals

start at $40.

While wall decals add a design touch, full wallpapers can create a completely different atmosphere in a room. Wallpapers

in pastel shades or calm tones and prints can suit the bedroom, a building-block wallpaper suits the kids’ room and a

water-drop wallpaper suits the bathroom. You can also choose less conventional wallpapers, like a plane

taking off, pyramids at sunset or even a white tiger, for the bold among you.

So if you’ve invested a lot in renovating and the home design stage is ahead of you, it’s worth exploring wallpaper and wall decals.

That way, at the end of the process, you’ll get as close as possible to the design you dreamed of.
